Sister love

Do you know how to tell when you have a true friend? I do.
You have found a true friend when the following criteria have been met:
1. you can both always be yourself
2. there is no drama, just truth, love, and acceptance
3. you both celebrate the milestones in each others lives, even if they don't happen at the same time.
4. no matter where you go or how far you separate, you can be reunited at any time and start right back where you left off, as if you had never been apart.

And who are your best friends? That's more tricky and while I'm not too big on ranking friendships, I am proud to say that my sisters are my best friends. Of course there's my soul mate for life and long-lost twin sister Christina, who I will cherish forever and who, by the way, is also proud to be very close to her sisters...but the friendship that I have with my sisters is like no other, and very often, people can't understand it. It sometimes even scares them. Penelope and I once had a nasty girl say to us "I think it's so sad that your sisters are your best friends." We won't reveal the identity of this sad character, or try to interpret her vicious comment, but I will say that I could not disagree with her more.

Kevin, Sapphie, Penelope and I recently had a visit from our older sister, Hannah. Hannah is not only a best friend, she is a wave of comfort, calm, and love makes you feel so sure of yourself and the world around you. Hannah swept in like an angel and made me feel so peaceful and confident with my new baby. She cuddled and cooed her like a pro, and gave me some much needed older-sister support. The entire visit was a blur of ectasy, but after she left I spent lots of time remembering the visit and thought: "how lucky am I to have such amazing sisters?" The three of us spent lots of time together, picked out Penelope's wedding dress, reminised. It was as if Hannah had never moved away. Now she's gone, and we miss her, but we know we'll see her again soon, and we'll start right back up where we left off. Here are some pictures from her wonderful visit:
Her gift to Sapphie - she painted my belly cast! It's in the nursery so that Sapphie will always feel her auntie's presence, even if she's miles away.
