Sweet Spring

The month of March was just beautiful. We had amazing sunny weather, and did lots of fun activities. Early in the month, we went down to the condo and had the Manguals come to visit. It was SO much fun, and I think the kids really had a blast. Gabe and Julia were so cute with Sapphie! They each brought her a toy to play with, and Sapphie especially loved the little motorized monster truck that Gabe brought. She played with it every morning. They both call her "Sapphie-phire", which made me laugh. The weather was really nice, so we were able to do lots of walking and hanging out on the deck. On Saturday, Gabe took a ski lesson and Christina and I enjoyed the Spring Festival and Lincoln Peak with the babies and Julia. Julia got her face painted with a beautiful butterfly. Sapphie and Luke were really funny together! They are almost the same height, and they just stared at each other. Sapphie tried to kiss Luke a few times, but she was a little too aggressive for his taste! It's really neat watching the babies grow up together, and watch them take on their own personalities. We missed them as soon as they left, and I can't wait for our next visit.

Here are Kevin and Sapphie, walking around at Lincoln Peak after a day of skiing

And here are the kids in the antique ski chair. Julia was supervising the babies

The next big spring activity was the Annual Vermont Sugar Houses Open House weekend. We only went to one sugar house - to Taft's Milk and Maple. They are in Huntington and are one of Kevin's customers. They've got a herd of Jersey cows, so we thought it would be fun for Sapphie to see the sugar house and to pet the cows. She had a BLAST, and definitely got her fill of sugar!

Yummy, homemade maple doughnuts!

Sapphie has also been exploring all sort of new foods. I try to make her foods from her heritage - Puerto Rican, Italian, English, and Lebanese. So far, she's loved everything, especially Puerto Rican food. I really haven't given her enough Lebanese though, so I busted out my Arabic cookbook and she's been loving it! Tonight we're making meat pies, taboolee, and hoomus (hummus!). They spell it funny.

She goes crazy for hummus!

And here are some more photos and LOTS of video for you to enjoy:
